I Remember

I remember when I watched this movie for the first time. I never really understood it until I was a pre teen and then realized how awesome of a move it was. 

Willie had 3 things that made his factory great 

1. Great Process: Automation of the making of his candies. 

2. Great People: The Oompa Loompas

3. Great Product: The Chocolate & Candy

Unfortunately many companies/project managers do not possess all 3 aspects that make businesses successful. Most businesses have a great product, but the project manager has to manage the process and people. 

Having a project manager, team or department that realizes that he, she or they can’t manage everything themselves is important. No PMI certification can teach that and drill that thought into the heads of a PMs or leadership. 

Experience and critical thinking is key. Over the past few months we have seen a project come apart in multiple areas. This is by far the worse project in terms of execution we have ever seen and we

seen some bad ones. The project is now....

1. Waaaaaayyyy over schedule

2. Way over budget (by the way this company removed the experts at the beginning and tried to do everything themselves in a effort to cut cost) 

3. Now have a process that is broken.
